Lady Gaga's debut album The Fame, which entered the UK top three on its release in January and climbed to the top spot in April, has now been certified platinum and become the biggest-selling album released this year. Its debut single, ‘Just Dance,’ became the first new #1 song of 2009 in the UK and US and was nominated for a Grammy. Its successor, ‘Poker Face’ is the UK’s biggest single of the year, while ‘LoveGame’ made Lady Gaga only the third artist in the history of Billboard’s Top 40 airplay charts to achieve three #1 songs from a debut album. To date, she has sold 20 million single track downloads...and counting!
